About Counselling

Counsellors are trained practitioners in talking therapy who work with people over a short or long term to help them bring about effective change and/or enhance their wellbeing when struggling to work through things on their own*. For a lot of people talking therapy works as well or more effectively than medication, or as a combination alongside physical activity.

In my experience, greater self-awareness offers greater self-acceptance and esteem. This helps deal with the barriers that stop you living the life you want and making the healthy relationships you want to. The underlying current that runs through the therapy I offer is helping people understand why they are feeling the way they are. This can be a very powerful process that you can take with you throughout your life.
